Exercise therapy has many uses and will normally form a very important part of any injury rehab programme or treatment.

Corrective exercises are prescribed for people with a wide variety of issues including poor postural control, acute sports injuries and chronic injuries. Many injuries can occur as a result of previous injuries and it is always important to allow enough time for healing and recovery.

If you are suffering from a chronic injury, corrective exercises can help you to take control of the pain. It is important to fully assess the injury as the site of pain may not be the underlying cause.

Kinesiology Taping

What is Kinesiology tape?

Kinesiology tape is an elastic cotton tape, with an adhesive backing. It can be used to treat injuries, assist with rehab and improve athletic performance.

What does it do?

Kinesiology tape has several purposes, but the main three things it's thought to do are to reduce pain at the site of injuries, improve activation of muscles and promote blood flow and lymphatic drainage.

Joint mobilisations are the passive movement of a joint carried out by your therapist. The treatment is performed at varying degrees of intensity and is used to restore or improve joint motion and reduce pain.

  • Decrease stiffness in joints
  • Increase joint mobility
  • Decrease pain in or around joints
  • Restore normal function to a joint

Sports Massage

Sports Massage

Sports massage includes a variety of classic, deep tissue, friction and trigger point release massage techniques. It can be used to both help prevent and recover from the injuries. It can also be used as part of a regular routine to aid recovery from training and competition.

What are frictions?

Frictions are used to prevent or break up adhesions forming in soft tissues. It is applied with a deep pressure into the tissue and works to break apart and realign fibres. This technique is often used for treating tendon injuries by helping to mobilise scar tissue in a poorly healed injury.
